【摘要】:1.1Thesetestmethodsforimpacttestingcoverthedetailsofapparatus,testspecimensandproceduresforcastiron,includinggrayiron,whiteiron,malleableiron,ductileiron,andaustemperedductileiron,butnotincludingchilledrollsorrollswithwhiteironskins.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Acompanionstandard,A327M,listsvaluesinSIunits.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3TheCharpy-typeimpacttestshallbeemployedfortestinggrayandwhiteirons.1.4EitherthestandardnotchedorunnotchedCharpyimpacttestshallbeemployedintestingofmalleableorductileirons.SelectionofthetypebarisdependentuponthespecificmaterialtobeevaluatedasdefinedinSection.1.5Bothtypesofcharpybarshavebeendesignatedtocharacterizethefracturetoughnessofirons.TheunnotchedCharpybar,whentested,willproducesubstantiallyhigherenergyvaluesthanthenotchbartype.Theunnotchedbaristhereforespecifiedfortestingironsthathavelowfracturetoughnesscharacteristics.
